Agnerd Field Day – Organic Workshop and Field Day

July 24, 2012

Well it’s late but there’s a ton of information covered today at the Alabama Cooperative Extension Organic Farming Workshop and Field Day held in Cullman, Alabama.

For those not familiar with the extension office, they’re a university program that has a wealth of information from farming to food safety to gardening to nutrition.

Today we had sessions on organic disease controls, organic insect control, high tunnel crops, an awesome meal of local food before heading out to the Alabama Agriculture Experiment Station to talk rain water harvesting, see cover crops and no till and see a variety of research systems in progress.

In attendance were folks from teens to seniors – yes Connor attended. It yielded information, some new things to try, photos and videos (I haven’t had a chance yet to see what turned out!). A few photos to share for now – more as it uploads!
