Ag In The Bible – Do We Hear Him?

August 26, 2012

Long before agnerds hit on and spread links to “I’m Farming And I Grow It,” Greg Peterson has been recording music videos and posting them on YouTube. He’s even got original music on Amazon. A viral hit with approaching 7 million views, I’m Farming and I Grow It gathered massive attention that generated appearances on major media outlets, but there’s still a farm to run!

This has been an incredibly busy week – preparing to attend the conference, stocking up on feed, going over instructions with Connor, who was taking over operations for a few days, travel to the conference, board meeting, presenting, moderating, socializing and more was a whirlwind even for a few days. Downtime was late for blowing off a little steam – so what do agnerds do in the city? Why – go out for ice cream of course! Thanks Just Farmers crew for the laughs.

I think everyone has times things get to be a whirlwind. Perhaps it’s moving to another area, or harvest or planting or many other “seasons” in our lives. It’s at times when the whirlwind is spinning around it’s even more important to slow down.

Word of God speak

Psalm 46:10 – New International Version (NIV)

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Psalm 95:7
for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice

A sheep (or chicken flock) is at the mercy of predators without a caretaker. They hear the voice of the caretaker and are at ease. Voice can ease the nervous horse or cattle – and as that eases us, shouldn’t we listen to our Caretaker.

Be still. Center. Listen. Have an awesome week.
