A Visit to Black Horse Cherry Orchard

October 24, 2012

Some time ago I posted about a visit to an indoor aquaponic system. Today we’re taking a virtual visit to a family member’s operation in Illinois. It’s another great example of making things happen, starting where you are with what you have. All of these videos together are about an hour…but pull up a chair and see what can be done, even in a small city, if you look outside the box.

Aquaculture very basic system

Turning overgrown to orchard:

And about a 24 minute clip of a little history and presentation of the background of this idea.

We’ve certainly had a great deal going on, but this is in the same spirit as what we’re doing, but in Illinois.

Thanks so much for sharing these. I’ve been very interested in these kinds of systems and am definitely in the information gathering stage.

Thanks! There’s so many options, and we’re always learning…sometimes learning what works and sometimes what doesn’t work. This is a project done by family members, and while we’re not near enough to make a difference right now, we can sure spread the word and support! Thanks for stopping by – I’m sure if you have questions Anthony will be happy to answer them on his youtube video comments! ;-D
