Past, Changes, Planning, Future
Past – where we’ve come from, what we have done. Sometimes it seems insignificant. Sometimes it seems we let people down. Sometimes I question if it’ll ever reach potential.
Present – planning, preparing both long term and short term. Payments due, income cut, pressing issues, looking to next year, preparing for winter. It’s the in between stages of temperatures. It’s a cold snap tonight and tomorrow night, so the straggling peppers and tomatoes are covered and containers put in a teepee out front for protection.
Future is not just next year but building. Getting the land in Kentucky, getting Connor’s land paid off. Instead of investing in a savings account or estate he’ll be getting 10 acres of land in Arizona, about an hour east of Flagstaff. It’s enough elbow room he can do what he wants, whatever that might be. He’s learning raised beds and a host of other lessons, so has options. He’s learning electrical work, and has made some pocket money doing odd jobs here and there.
I look at my dad, who often said he didn’t have an education beyond eighth grade and couldn’t spell. He’s written a book, dedicated to my brother Steven who died as a baby. We can do what we set our mind to do.
So although many say something can’t be done, we keep focusing on other things that can be done. Will be done. Is being done! It’s the lowest time in a decade, but giving up not an option.
Past, present, future is all linked! We’re doing some special mini shares and small shares for the first 10 signups – or sponsors! – which will introduce more people to what we’re doing and help us over the rough patch hump. We’re just payments from being paid off on our little place here. We have some Christmas packages that are being worked on for $50 and $100 amounts. All original, won’t find someone else buying the same thing on black Friday!
It’s all interlinked. Past is where we come from, but we can’t live there. Present is where we are but can’t stay there. Future is yet to come, but we need the planning to get there.
Life. Business. It’s not that different. It is braided together here.
