Grown Up Christmas List 2013

December 23, 2013

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAA couple of years ago I did a blog post that has, in many ways, come true. It’s gone from a normal year of watching pennies to an extremely tight end of the year of seeming to make progress but knowing we’re skating on questionable ice!

Whether we make up lists to send to Santa or keep it within the confines of our mind, taking a few minutes to be thankful and dream a little is a good thing. What would we do if nothing was impossible?

Recently a friend up home was blessed with an anonymous person paying the medical bills for three people – she was one – to the tune of some $250,000. Our truck on payments is a blessing of large proportions.

We’ve offered a special run trial farm share for $100 and 6 month trial subscriptions for $12.50 – both of these make good stocking stuffers for those who might not quite be ready for a larger share. It helps us and helps others.

Beyond that – on my list:

1. A full sell out year for 2014 would be awesome!

2. That everyone would take the time to appreciate a beautiful sunset, or a flower. In this, fully appreciate the things we take for granted – our sight. Hearing and smell. The taste of a good meal.

3. That on a regular basis we can make a difference for others, not just our customers and people who cross our path, but having enough to pass along.

4. That in the next year there are fewer hungry people.

5. That fewer people pass those in need without helping. We can all make the world a better place. We should make the world a better place – even if it’s just our little corner of it.

As we approach Christmas, take a special time to thank our military, our first responders and those working on Christmas to make a difference for others.

We’re never too old for Christmas lists.
