Connor and I attended an ag day hosted by the Tennessee Valley Women in Agriculture. I was encouraged and revived by others who “get” what we’re doing. If you’re joining us in the wake of the TVWIA day, the cold, rain and wind didn’t damper the enthusiasm for food choices!
Just before the event, we also looked at a spot of land that will be a growing spot. We still look for Kentucky land long term, but need a step to get there, as well as a way to serve our Alabama friends. This seems a way to do both. With that, we’re looking at a big push in a short period of time as well as a couple small projects at the same time, working together to get things rolling now!
Habanero peppers and Hungarian hot peppers, a couple types of sweet peppers, a few spaghetti squash and watermelon and cilantro has been started in the greenhouse. The trees I arranged a few months ago from the Arbor Day Foundation arrived so those will be set to grow along with some others.
Aside from the things already listed on our website, I’ll be adding some crowdsourcing specials. This will in some cases be a one time thing such as the “rabbit hole” perk or the “some like it hot” that is more of a test market! Stay tuned tomorrow for more details. Some of these are limited to as little as 16, while others are more plentiful. Some will be edible, some not, some can ship, some you need to come here! If you can’t wait you can check the website, but do stay tuned this week as things roll out on social media.
