Saturday Market – Learn Skills at August Clinic

July 12, 2014

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMoving forward there are things pressing, and things that need done *and* a desire to teach others. Many have asked about basics, about growing where there isn’t much room, about building inexpensively. The chance comes for the first time next month – a bit of a press for time, but if folks want to learn there is no time like the present to start! There’s only one first clinic, and we’ll work to making it worth your time.

We are booking a clinic for August 16, 2014 and is limited to 60 people only! Wear comfortable clothing for the day, solid shoes/boots. Bring a chair and appropriate dress for the weather!! It will be held in Nauvoo Alabama – just a hop skip and a jump off of I22. OK maybe a little more than a literal hop, skip and jump. It’s an hour northwest of Birmingham, or about the same straight south of Muscle Shoals or straight west of Cullman.

Pizza lunch will brought in and provided. It’s hands on and ‘sitting’ time, and if you’re looking to learn this is a great time to do it! We’ll cover basic poultry housing, handling of rabbits, fencing basics, hutch construction (for rabbits) and more. There will be start to finish construction of a hoop shelter, and raised bed construction using several types of materials.

If you have challenging soil conditions, raised beds are a way to alter it. If you can no longer handle a traditional garden, raised beds may be a solution.

If these things seem complicated, come learn how to make it not complicated. All funds from the clinics go towards projects at SlowMoneyFarm. Book today!
